There are no drivers necessary to connect a Windows PC to your Sony TV. This is as the digital HDMI connection between your graphics card and the TV handles automatically the supported resolutions through the EDID identifier. This means basically that any device supporting HDMI displays connected to your TV will natively be able to interrogate the TV for its supported screen resolutions.
Sony Bravia Drivers
If you provide more details on what is the resolution now and what resolution are you intending to achieve, perhaps we would be able to help. Note that the display settings on the Intel graphics control panel must list all supported resolutions. If you are having trouble setting the TV's native resolution in there, the suggestion would be to use a tool called DDU in order to uninstall your graphics drivers, then let Windows update them automatically to WHQL certified drivers.
This is where I deleted both of the High Def Audio Dev and then rebooted. When I checked Device Manager Windows had reinstalled the HDAD drivers which were still listed twice but the second HDAD had the Code 10 the first one was okay. Also, I had nothing other than internal speakers listed on the Playback screen. I went to the HP site and followed the instructions for updating the audio driver(s) including a Hard Reset - same thing. Then I followed the instructions for reinstalling the original driver from the product page which was IDT for my machine.
I have read somewhere that the HDAD driver which I can't seem to get rid of is not compatible with the IDT driver which could be causing the code 10. But, that doesn't explain why I got that code when I first removed the HDAD drivers and then rebooted.
Since the error message is that the old driver (only one available from support) cannot be validated for my computer should I be rolling back other drivers so that the mix will allow the original? If so, will they still work with Windows 10? Also, am I going to keep having this issue with future updates?
As a matter of fact, I have received a few updates on your concern and it looks like the issue should be resolved if you download the driver directly from the manufacturer's site, Click here to download the auto-detect utility and install the drivers from the Intel website.
Having problems with the mini universal apps for the newest Sony tv series. (AG9)When i choose a mini driver, the tv switches to the selected source (eg. netflix/amazon video) but the remote is ignoring any further input. Volume control is still working on the tv, but it seams that the driver did not understand that he still needs to control the sony tv as endpoint in the mini driver mode. I need to switch back to the "sony tv" as source and the remote is working again. i can debug the driver but the keypress is not visible in the log. is there anyway to tell the minidriver that he needs so use the tv as a endpoint for the remote controls?
Hello. I have a sony vaio VGN-FZ31E. I recently sent it to repair a problem with the graphics card, but.... 1. The audio was not working when connected via HDMI to TV (that I fixed). 2. When I downloaded the drivers for NVIDA GeForce 8400 GT GPU, the screen drivers ...disappeared. Now I cannot connect it to TV (it does not recognise the HDMI. What drivers I should install in the first place for this laptop ? Does anyone know? And if yes, where can I get them from? I have already downloaded the ones from sony support center, but they do not work.
Hi, Have you tried uninstalling the video drivers, restarting and letting Windows 'find' the new hardware? What was the problem with the video before you had it repaired? Was it working with the same OS as you are using now before you got it fixed?
Hi, sorry for the delayed and thank you for you answers. The problem was that the graphics card was not working and the screen was pink ! Now this is solved, but I cannot connect it to a TV. If I recall correctly it was working on Windows XP (now for some reason I do not know, they installed Windows 7). The thing is that for some reason the section Adapter (advanced settings - Screen) has no description and actually this happened immediately after I did exactly that, i.e. uninstalled the video drivers and let windows "find" the hardware. So the real question what the description should be in that section and what drivers do I miss ? Thank you again
I've updated the TV to the latest firmware that enables VRR for the Sony A80J, then I've updated the drivers to the latest release 22.4.2, then i've enabled the enanched format on the TV(VRR option) but in the Catalyst Driver there Is no toggle for VRR, but only the one referring to Freesync that the Sony doesn't support.
With the VRR toggle enabled in the AMD drivers (and no other changes), the test line was rock solid in the same test case. There was some visible tearing as I reduced the frame rate below 48 FPS, consistent with what I saw running RE8.
But as VRR only works in TMDS mode with AMD drivers since years, you are limited to 4K60 8 Bit. For Fixed Rate Link (everything higher than 4K60 8Bit) VRR does just not work. Driver shows VRR as enabled with support from 40-120 Hz, but the image will tear.
Thank you for the information! I've read a lot about 22.7.x and 22.8.x beta drivers and there are tons of complains from 6xxx users about broken openGL and hardware accel right in the common desktop programs like MS edge. It's like AMD tries to prove that these are BETA drivers. Scary to update. Gonna wait for a WHQL one with, hopefully, fixed hardware accel and openGL stuff.
To update the current situation: sony 77A80J, firmware v6.6070 (latest as of now), win11 pro 22h2, 6900xt drivers 22.11.2 latest available for 6900xt and whql certified. TV is plugged directly via HDMI to port 4 with VRR mode in the TV settings enabled for port 4. Radeon driver settings recognize a VRR-able panel "right from the box" and allows to tick VRR settings to ON/OFF. However, as @cvzone kindly reported above, VRR physically works only at 60hz mode. Actual FPS must be capped below 60hz (e.g. at 59) to remove all screen tearing. Overall, it is unusable, because few games (which you would play on a tv) allow to cap FPS and third-party FPS-capping apps introduce lag comparable to vsync making them senseless. The best option as of now is to play at VSYNCed 120hz mode and, if your game/hardware is not 120fps stable, enable "half vsync" (at least tomb raider games support it), which outputs each frame twice thereby providing stable tearfree 60fps with a lower input lag due to 120hz mode.
It is selectable, selected and indicated as working but in fact it does not work, there is still screen tearing. VRR and Freesync are trademarks owned by different companies under which trademarks they market their implementation of VESA Adaptive Sync technology. They are similar but not the same. PS5 supports VRR but won't work with a freesync-only monitor, radeon rx 550 supports freesync but won't work with a VRR-only TV (like sony bravia).
Sony devices like receivers and soundbars should work with this driver. I have tested it on my sony soundbar and all listed functions should work on the compatible devices. This API also works on many other undocumented sony devices. This uses the REST API verses IRCC commands or SOAP calls that some other drivers use. I was not as interested in emulating button clicks, but wanted to know which value the device is currently to optimize settings. I can now change to nightmode and turn down the sub when the kids go to bed.
Hello. I ran into a problem when connecting my computer to the TV Sony X900H. Artifacts appear on the TV. I tried to solve this problem by reinstalling windows and as it turned out the problem was in the version of the drivers. Driver version 512.77 and earlier worked correctly. Newer drivers were causing artifacts to appear on the TV. Could you please fix this issue in a future driver release, as I have been reading the forums and people sometimes encounter similar problems when connecting a computer to a TV.Tested on windows 10 and 11 with RTX 3070PS: When I use monitor to display the image, everything is fine. 2ff7e9595c
